Ms.Anusha and Mr.Vishwanath's had visited Navgati, an office space we designed back in 2015 at Jeevan Bhima nagar and approached us, asking for similar simplicity, vibrance and warmth.
We designed the complete interiors, furniture and the terrace extension. Its one of the easiest work relations we have had and we hope it shows in the work. The house is a typical duplex model in a row house set up, with part ownership to terrace. The main requirement of the house was to house three generation of people and their independent routine and unified devotion to their faith. Living room and the double volume became that union point of the family.Living room TV wall and the double volume wall got their colors from the deity images client bought with much devotion and desire. We found this as a way of responding to context and stitching the color scheme together.North facing spaces of the house i.e Foyer, Living, and Pooja were given warm color treatment and the south facing spaces got a pop of cool pastel shades. The contrast broke our notion about color theory and produced an interesting spatial result. Kitchen is the hearth of our design thinking in residential interior projects. We have done kitchens as inhouse design-build model for the longest time now, and have understood the role of ledges, treatment of corners, efficiency of certain hardware, and accessories thoroughly. We also reinterpret the storage model for each client and make sure there is much efficiency and cheer to this space.
