That's a scary space to think about because I really don't know if musicians are driven enough to go the long haul. Very few people I've met are patient enough to say, 'Okay, 10 years from now, I'm going to make it big'. I took 20 years to become whatever I am today [laughs] but I don't know if youngsters I meet these days are ready for that..... Read more

Working with Deepa Suriyaprakash and the Betweenlines team has been a joyful home-creation experience for me. Right from my first meeting with Deepa, when I was exploring options for two home interior projects, I got excellent vibes and instinctively I knew that I had got the right person. Deepa gets the essence of what you are trying to achieve with every single corner of the house and executes it beautifully. No idea that you throw at her is discarded without being given due consideration. However outlandish our scheme, she always heard us out and gave us her view on it with details of technical and financial feasability, and practical pros and cons. I would gladly take another journey with this team should the opportunity arise in the future. Deepa came up with excellent ideas on how to integrate many of our existing pieces into a new domain, and thanks to that we are happily in a new place that will always be reminiscent of our past.

We have been very lucky to have had Deepa and team design our store in Jayanagar. They take deep interest in knowing their clients and translating their ideas into something beautiful despite the limitations of the site. More than that its also their professionalism, keen attention to detail and adherence to timely completion of projects that sets them apart

I worked with Deepa to convert a row type house in Jeevan Bima Nagar to an aesthetic, simple office. Given all the constraints we placed on her, she did a remarkable job. What I deeply appreciated about Deepa was her principles of work: it was important for her to not randomly break down walls without considering alternatives. She would find opportunities to recycle every piece of waste. She very creatively maximised the space with minimal breakdown of the current structure. She was also keen to ensure that while our building was aesthetic, it blended with the neighbourhood since all houses were similar. I admired the trusting partnerships she had built over the years with her various contractors - they seemed to be willing to go out of their way to do things for her. Her willingness to be involved in minute details, and some unpleasant tasks like appeasing unhappy neighbours or arguing with KEB staff, made a big difference to me. Our project was really small - but Deepa treated it as a project of significant importance as I believe she would treat any project she handles. The potent combination of ethics, environmental sensitivity and artistic ability, make her an unbeatable architect. The proof of her work is our aesthetic, well-lit, well-ventilated office, with a riot of earthy colours and homely charm.

  • “SHIVAM”, 251, M.S.Ramaiah North City, Nagawara, Thanisandra Main Road Bengaluru,

When we were looking for architects for our house, we were worried if we would find someone who could realise our dream home. In Shri Guru Prasanna, we found an Urban Designer & Architect with right temperament and vision.

He understood our requirements very well as we are talking in layman’s language. He puts those ideas in drawings and sketches and shown to us without any hesitation. We were also talking about the vastu details of our house, and to our luck he knows the vastu very well. His patience and attention to detail amazed us.

He listened to our ideas along with suggesting the latest trends to add beauty to every aspect of the house. His unwavering focus and open mind to create, design and re-design helped us sail through when the times were tough. He introduced us to a good contractor and coordinated with the contractor who was taking up the building works as per his directions. Shri Guru Prasanna ensured that the specifications given in the drawings were met starting from foundation, up to completion of the house.

We are thankful to him for making several visits to the site in Bangalore traffic. He was always conscious about the natural light which should be present in a house. He also introduced us to an interior designer and fabricator who have completed the work with utmost care.

Mrs Deepa, who is also an expert in designing was an able aide and a pillar of support, always cheerful and brimming with new ideas. We are truly indebted to Deepa Madam.

We are also thankful to the Shri Chandrakanth, Ms. Sushma Pramod and other staff of Betweenlines for coordinating with us and contractor from time to time.

Thank you Mr & Mrs. Guru Prasanna.
You built the home of our dreams.

    Mrs. Rekha and Mr. Nagesh

  • Interlock house,
    Thally, Tamil Nadu

Deepa designed and executed our farmhouse at a remote hamlet near Thally village, 65 kilometres from Bengaluru city. From the start what was heart-warming was her patience to ‘listen” to our needs (and we were not always sure of what exactly we wanted) and the ability to translate all of that into a very good plan. She showed excellent skills and a great work ethic right through the various stages from start to completion and was a rock solid pillar of confidence to us during some of the difficult stages of the project. She also gave a number of excellent suggestions that helped in a creative utilization of space, excellent visual appeal while also maintaining harmony. Through the many challenges from start to completion, what also stood out was her eye for detail in planning and execution, her commitment to schedules and timing, her willingness to consider inputs at any stage of the project and her capacity to keep the whole construction team cohesive and in good humour.

As a person, Deepa is warm and friendly and today we look at her more as a friend than a professional who designed and helped build our farm-house. We wholeheartedly vouch for her very high work ethic, passion, dedication, sincerity and honesty.  We have no hesitation at all in endorsing her professional skills which are of the highest order.
